i just had my late late lunch at max – it’s been ages since the last time i eat at a max’s resto. the reason i went there coz i really got enticed with the photos and short articles – so i ordered the gambas in aligae and hoping that i can taste the monggo – as of today wala na siya sa menu. it took them almost more than 20 mins. to serve my order of gambas and oriental lumpia – i was about to leave and cancel the order – but i said patience this has to be worth the wait. yehey came my order – the oriental lumpia – though i thought there would be anything different from the regular lumpia – except it was swimming in sauce – what else can you do with a lumpia. anyway, the gambas – first bite- tastes like shrimp – a little tough but ok – where’s the aligae – all i taste is garlic – and a hint of spiciness – but where is the aligae!…oh well…at least now i know why i haven’t been eating at max.

OMG, mongo! And it’s with tinapa? I just had a combo of mongo and dilis at Cafe Bola last weekend. I will surely try that at Max’s very soon.

I love to eat relyenong bangus and fried chicken. That’s what I ordered when we dropped by at the Hacienda Luisita in Tarlac together with the mediamen and women of the National Commission on Culture and the Arts.

I already tasted Max fried chicken. I think it is one of the best tasting if not the best fried chicken I ever chow.

Wow, by looking at your pictures, Max’s Restaurant has sure improved their menu. My Mom and her sisters always go to Max’s Restaurant for their “sisters” dinner which they do every now and then and I had the honour to be included as a guest in one occasion but I could not understand why they love the restaurant so much. The fried chicken was dry, the crispy pata was good, my aunt’s kare-kare was way better and the sinigang sa palayok was fine but not spectacular. I don’t know, it just wasn’t my favourite restaurant, looking at the pictures now though, I wish we have a branch here in Canada lol!
